Why Do I Blog?

12:51 pm · category: Embracing My Inner Geek

I’ve been tagged by mouse, who was tagged by Min, who was tagged by Meghan…

5 Reasons Why I Blog
(1) Because I think I’m the funniest person I know. It’s sad, but it’s true.
(2) Because my family and friends are pretty funny, too, and none of them have blogs. I’m providing a service!
(3) Because I like the relative anonimity of blogging. Not a lot of people read my blog, and I’ve never even met most of those who read it regularly.
(4) Because sometimes you just need to bitch.
(5) Because it’s like Testing, but I’m in charge!

What Have I Become?

7:06 pm · category: Embracing My Inner Geek

I’d never purchased a comic book in my life until March, when this was released. By May, I was buying five copies so I could supply my family. Beginning in June, I’ll be buying ten copies a month, because I’m going to need five of these.

I have a reserve box at the comic store now.

On the Brain, But Not In the Gut

Yesterday I was asking a co-worker about the schedule for installing items on our newly renovated third floor, which should roll out in the next three weeks. When he asked what kinds of items I meant, I got stuck. I knew what I wanted to say in my head, but my mouth simply could not form the words. After six seconds of dead silence, I finally blurted, “Mashed potatoes and gravy!”

What I had meant to say was “irons and ironing boards.” The words were in my head. But my brain absolutely would not let me say it until I’d said “mashed potatoes and gravy.” It was like I had a one-time Tourette’s episode.

I later realized that it was 6:20 p.m., and the only thing I’d eaten all day was 8 ounces of string cheese.
