I just found out about a great website. At Books for Soldiers, you can find lists of soldiers serving abroad who would like your old paperback books and magazines to help them pass their downtime. You can also send letters and postcards to either named or anonymous soldiers. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it’s a good thing to do. So do it! There’s a permanent link in the sidebar to the right, just in case you’re feeling selfish now but decide to commit a random act of kindness later.

I’ve Moved

I toyed around with this enough to figure out what I want, and I created a new blog, which you can find here. Be sure to bookmark the new site so you can find me. This blog will be deleted on July 1.

Happy BlogDay to Me!

1:50 am · category: Uncategorized

I finally got around to playing with Blogger, and now I know I think I know what I want. It looks like this is going to be it. Welcome!

There were only ten or so previous entries on the old blog, but a few of them were absolutely heart-wrenching. You can find the old blog here. However, I’m going to delete the old blog on July 1.

If I did everything right, there should be some handy stuff in the sidebar to the right. There’s a place where you can enter your email address and be automatically notified when I make a new post. That function requires a little effort on your part, as there’s a “middle man” you have to go through — but only once during the initial sign-up. There’s also a direct link to my email. For those of you who know me personally, be aware that the email link sends messages to an email account I’ve set up only for blogging purposes; therefore, it is not the email most of you are accustomed to using. However, I check it daily, so I’ll get your message in a timely manner anyway. I also posted some links to things that are of interest to me.

Questions? Comments? Then hit the comment button below, and I’ll try to get back with you. I’m sure I screwed something up, but I’m equally sure Bart will let me know so I can fix it.
